MSD Provides detailed technical information about your computer. It will work better if you use it on computers that were produced before 1993. Note: You can use MSD.EXE to get information about your MS-DOS version, MS-DOS memory status (conventional, UMB and HMA), extended memory usage, etc. You must use it in MS-DOS or in 3.x or earlier versions of Windows. Do not use it in Windows 9x/NT/2000. In those versions of Windows, it will not work properly, or it will cause errors. You can run it from MS-DOS that comes with Windows 9x, whose versions could be 7.0, 7.1 or 8.0. To get information about the computer in Windows 9x/NT/2000, you can use System Property dialog box which can be called out by shortcut keys Win + Break or by right-clicking on the "My Computer" icon and then select "Properties". You can also use the "System Information" tool by opening the Start menu, point to "Accessories", point to "System Tools", and select "System Information". For more information, please refer to MS-DOS Help or Windows NT command line command help.
