To install Turbo C 2.01, follow these instructions: 1. Extract the zip file to a directory (e.g. C:\My Documents\TC201). 2. Move all the files in the subdirectories to the father directory. e.g. Move the files in C:\My Documents\TC201\DISK1\*.* to C:\My Documents\TC201 Move the files in C:\My Documents\TC201\DISK2\*.* to C:\My Documents\TC201 Move the files in C:\My Documents\TC201\DISK3\*.* to C:\My Documents\TC201 3. Run INSTALL.EXE. When asked where the source files are located, type C and then ENTER. The installation program will automatically find the path for you, so just press ENTER. 4. Follow the instructions of the installation program. 5. After the installation, create a batch file in the directory where Turbo C 2.01 was installed just now (e.g. C:\TC\TC.BAT). Type these lines (c:\mytc is just an example, where you are going to store your source files): @echo off path c:\tc;c:\windows;c:\windows\command c: cd \mytc tc.exe 6. Create a shortcut to the batch file you created just now. Create a directory that you specified in the batch file above. 7. Add the line to C:\CONFIG.SYS if it doesn't exist: files=20 If the line shown above already exists, make sure the number on the right of the equality mark is at least 20. Or, some errors may occur while Turbo C is building some multi-file programs. 8. Run TC.BAT. Change the TAB key space to 4 (in the Options->Environment->Tab size). Save the options (Options->Save options). It is recommended that you use indent in your programs. 9. After the computer is restarted, all is done. Enjoy your Turbo C 2.01! provided by Robbie Mosaic.
